Our parish is a very congenial and close knit one enjoying communal time together. After Sunday services we have Coffee Hour, a time for us to enjoy one another, meet guests, and have a little coffee and refreshments. The only exception is when we have our monthly “Moveable Feast” parish lunch. These times are wonderful opportunities for us to enjoy fellowship.
We have several parish traditions throughout the year that we all enjoy: An annual oyster roast, Vacation Church Camp each June, Advent Fair in the fall, and our annual Christmas Pageant.
The Women of the Church is a vital group to our Parish helping with hospitality and various ministries. The youth and children's groups are growing and vital ministries within our parish. The music ministry includes the Adult Choir and Children's Choir.
Our parish also enjoys learning together. On Sunday mornings we have Sunday School for children and adults. Each Wednesday evening we have youth group, adult Bible study and Children's Choir practice. We also have other opportunities of learning such as weekly women’s Bible study and sacred choral workshops.
In addition to communal and educational events, we have special services with a more devotional focus. Evening Prayer is held every Wednesday night with Choral Evensong held on the first Wednesday of the month September through May. On Ash Wednesday, we have a Holy Communion service with the Penitential Office and Imposition of Ashes. Our Good Friday Mediation Service is a three-hour meditation based on the seven last words of Christ. We offer a Blessing of Pets service in October, near the feast of St. Francis of Assisi. Holy Communion services are held for feast days throughout the year, including Thanksgiving Eve, Christmas Eve, and Christmas day. We also hold spiritual retreats from time to time and other special services.
